One of my favourite things about spring is sandals. In particular, this spring, the two-strap sandal...

Wanna Get The Look? Fashion Blogger Favourites |

13.3.13

I thought I'd do a little round-up of certain items which keep popping up on fashion blogs and in outfit posts at the moment. The neon American Apparel beanie bandwagon everybody, but everybody, is jumping on (this style in particular because of its stiffer shape and snug fit), the ASOS gold rings (so much cheaper than similar designer ones), the Jeffrey Campbell can-you-really-walk in those Lita platforms from blogger fave Nasty Gal, the white court heel (which I still can't quite work out how to incorporate into my wardrobe) and more. Have a flick through and tell me your favourite item.

What I'm Wearing - Sophie Hulme Satchel x Four Jackets |

21.1.13

What I'm Wearing - Sophie Hulme x Four Jackets
Jacket - All Saints (similar here)

I don't know about you, but when I get a new bag or pair of shoes the first thing I do is have a trying on session with various jackets (for bags) or jeans and dresses (for shoes). You know, just to have that information logged for whenever I need to quickly throw something on. Pre-tried = quick & stress-free dressing. Un-tried = potential disaster. You know, when you're out and catch a glimpse of your reflection and realise that your outfit components are already filing for a divorce and you long for an invisibility cloak. Anyway, I don't know why I'm harping on about this when this post is actually all about my fabulous new sale purchase of the Sophie Hulme plate satchel (full price in blue here). I love this bag. And so does my wardrobe. And I imagine you'll be seeing quite a lot of it over the weeks to come. Btw, did I mention the Sophie Hulme tote?? To. Die. For. (Or da morire, as the Italian fashionistas like to say.)

What I'm Wearing: #OOTD Faux Fur & Moonboots
Outfit of the Day / #OOTD
Location: One of North London's finest estates, probably all pricey flats. Camera: iPhone 4s. Who even carries a real camera about these days? ;) Photographer: Mucho reluctant. Extremely lucky to get away with this one shot. And my life. #fashionbloggerperils Be incredibly grateful those of you out there who have family or friends who actually like to take photos of you. Oh yes, the outfit. Moonboots (buy here), Zara jeans, last season ASOS faux fur (similar on sale here), vintage hat, knit by Topshop (similar here, actually this is a maternity one!), Brora scarf (on sale here), Boohoo wristies (similar here) and Jerome Dreyfuss bag (satchel version on sale here).

What I'm Wearing: Georgia Hardinge & Dries van Noten |

27.11.12

What I'm Wearing: Georgia Hardinge & Dries van Noten

Ok, let's get one thing straight. I am not the height designed for when it comes to this dress – the designer's ideal clients are the likes of Grace Jones, Skin from Skunk Anansie and Erin O'Connor (who is already a big fan of London designer Georgia Hardinge). Let me add to that list Florence Welch, who was recently photographed wearing this very AW12 print in a coat and top combo. Anyway, the point is, these are tall women of grand bearing more than capable of carrying off strong colour and print and more importantly lengthy, flowing materials. As I explained in a previous post, some of Georgia's dresses were trailing on the ground on my 5"2 frame at our try-on sesh, so really, this dress is a winner. On a model it's more of a knee-length affair (I'm not going to link to the catwalk version of this look, it's too much for my little heart to bare) on me, as you can see, it's coming in more mid-calf. Moving on, as previously discussed, I have added a pair of Dries van Noten heels (bought in sale), a vintage Oroton mesh evening bag (identical here, though I bargained the price at Spitalfields much lower than this!), an ASOS faux fur jacket (you've seen this in an outfit post before) a vintage/costume jewellery necklace and ring (family gifts, no idea of origin). Plus a dash of red lipstick by the now discontinued Ruby & Millie. And this, my friends, is about as damn glamorous as it gets around here. (In case you're wondering, the do I'm off to tonight is the Great Scot Awards where my hubby will be receiving a music award. :) Very proud!)

Swedish Fjällräven Kånken Rucksack |

7.11.12

Growing up in Copenhagen, the Swedish classic Kånken rucksack Fjällräven (it means arctic fox in Swedish; the brand was created in 1960) was an extremely common sight at school – we all had one! Over the last year I've loved spotting the telltale red and white badged backpack on cool Scandi hipsters around Shoreditch, in the slightly smug knowledge that not many people knew the brand. That's probably about to change now that the ever so adorkable Zooey Deschanel instagrammed herself wearing one and various style bloggers have been snapping themselves with them, (see the Grazia post). The bag is nice and square so really good for carrying books and folders and comes in 23 colours. The ones below available from ASOS.

What I'm Wearing: Floral Denim & Faux Fur |

29.10.12

So here it is, the promised outfit post featuring my brand new Free People daisy print jeans that, joy of joys, actually fit (took a punt ordering online in my old size). Teamed with last winter's ASOS faux fur (similar here) (so realistically reddish – is it faux fox? – people always wonder if it's real; not really a good thing as you end up getting all defensive and apologetic) a cat intarsia knit from Topshop (yes, I love cats, yes, that is why the internet was invented etc etc) and a pair of sort of cracked-like-old-paint kitten heel ankle boots (no idea where these came from!) that always make me feel so 80s. So I basically love everything about this outfit – picking out the white of the flowers with the booties and basic H&M white vest worn underneath the jumper (see pics 3 and 4), the in-your-face burnt orange of the fur toned down by the dusty rose of the jumper and, of course, the cat burglar motif.

Update: The Free People UK website has now launched.
