Two strap sandals are within the realm of the Platonic form of sandals – reduced to their basic form,  two straps holding your foot to a sole, except these days there are myriad variations involving materials, colours and style. Two strap, two tone – like these Nelly ones – are a current favourite, and while the flatform (these by Topshop for example) looks a little intimidating, by all accounts they are extremely comfortable. Of course, it might be safer to go with a familiar wedge like the ones above by Lotus and ASOS, or what about these cute little block heels by Marni and Sam Edelman? As you can see, I'm drawn to nudes and neutrals – perfect for white dresses or denim, perennial summer staples. I've always had quite good luck buying sandals, so much so that I haven't bought a new pair in nearly three years! The classic tan leather multi-strap I always go for wears so well and seems just the right thing when the sun finally appears. However, the two strap feels very now, and I think it's about time I updated. Watch this space!
